When choosing Cigna PPO dental insurance, you can expect your benefits to look something like the following:
80-100% preventive diagnostic services (i.e., dental checkups and cleanings, X-rays, fluoride treatment, dental sealants)
60-80% basic restorative services (i.e., dental fillings, tooth extraction)
50% major restorative services (i.e., dental crowns, bridges, dentures, partials)
Although each individual plan might differ to some degree, root canals, oral surgery, and periodontal therapy will likely be considered and covered at either the basic or major restorative level. Also, you may be able to enroll in a plan that offers some sort of orthodontic coverage. While there are some plans with waiting periods, our dental team will review your plan to determine if you will need to wait to receive treatment to ensure it is covered by your dental insurance plan.
As it is with most dental policies, you will need to make sure you meet your deductible before you can expect your insurer to cover any or all of your dental care. Deductibles typically remain low (usually between $25-$100 per year), but you’ll also need to consider your annual maximum, as this is the allotted amount your insurance company will agree to pay each year (i.e., $1,000-$,2500).
